Huntsman gets specific with SOLUTIONS!

Jon Huntsman's letter to supporters after Iowa Debate Aug. 12, 2011:

I closed last night's GOP presidential debate with this line: "Barack Obama won in 2008 on Hope; I'm going to win in 2012 on Solutions."

In a time of economic tumult and global strife, the American people are desperate for principled, experienced and proven leadership.

While my opponents resorted to trading barbs, I offered serious solutions to rescue and revive our flailing economy, rid our country of its cancerous debt and restore our stature on the world stage - solutions I have already led and delivered on.

To spur economic growth, I discussed the need for bold tax reform - which is exactly what I did in Utah by signing the largest tax cut in state history, including a flat tax, which helped Utah lead the nation in job creation under my leadership.

Here are some other issues I discussed:

We need to get the regulatory monkey off the backs of our job creators. This includes repealing Obamacare and ending the EPA's regulatory reign of terror.
We need a balanced budget amendment to end the reckless spending in Washington.
We need to, once and for all, secure our southern border.
No Child Left Behind is unnecessary federal overreach that hasn't worked. The surest path to excellence in education is to empower parents and local communities.
I believe our nation can do a better job on the issue of equality, and that is why -- subordinate to marriage -- I support civil unions.
I am not running away from my record or my beliefs; I am running toward them. We may not agree on every issue, but you will know exactly where I stand, and exactly what I will do as Commander-in-Chief.

Today I am back on the campaign trail, and excited to continue spreading my vision to the American people. If you believe in that vision, and in a campaign focused on serious solutions, please consider an online donation to help keep our momentum going.

As I stated last night, for the first time in our nation's history, we are about to pass down to the next generation a country that is less competitive, less powerful and less good. That is why I am running for President, and I ask you stand with me by making an immediate secure online contribution to my campaign today.

Sincerely,

Jon Huntsman
